Help with Feeds

RSS feeds automatically deliver updated information directly to your desktop. In addition to monitoring this site, you can monitor other sites offering RSS feeds, including news, job listings, personals, and classifieds. You'll find feeds to be very helpful at keeping you up to date without having to constantly check websites for updates.

You'll find that more and more sites offer RSS (short for "Really Simple Syndication"), identified by a small (usually orange) button indicating "RSS" or "XML." However, you'll need a newsreader (software on the Web or on your computer) to take advantage of these feeds.

Just getting started with RSS and don't have a newsreader? We recommend that you start with a Web-based newsreader that you can easily open in your browser. No need to download a thing. Our favorite is the popular Bloglines newsreader, which is Web-based and simple to use. However, if you're already using Gmail and/or iGoogle, you might want to checkout iGoogle's newsreader, which will save you from signing up with a new service. Similarly, if you're already a Yahoo subscriber, you can add feeds to your myYahoo page..

To subscribe to one of the 1planet1ocean feeds, first sign in to your account at Bloglines, Google, Yahoo, or whatever newsreader you'll be using. Then click on the button to the right (or any you find on the 1planet1ocean site) corresponding to the newsreader you'd like to use. This feed delivers updates to you any time there are changes to the 1planet1ocean home page. Elsewhere on the site you'll find feeds for expedition updates, blogs, etc.
